Hi! My name is Madhura Venkatesh, and I’m in 8th grade at Evergreen Middle School. I love reading, listening to music, playing badminton, hanging out with friends, and spending my free time learning how to draw and dance.

I’ve always been curious about different stories and traditions, especially old stories that connect to my culture — and this website was the perfect opportunity!

Every year during Navaratri, my parents ask me to help create something special to display on the Golu steps, like clay vegetables and fruits.

This year, they asked me to write a short description of each of the 63 Nayanars, the saints devoted to Lord Shiva. At first, I thought it would be tedious and a little boring but as I started reading their stories, I was amazed. That’s when I got the idea to create a website to share what I learned. 

After reading about all of these nayanars, my personal favorite would be the 9th nayanar, Kannappa Nayanar. His story was beyond inspiring and had me on the edge of my seat.
