Kari Nayanar
The Story of Kari Nayanar
Kari Nayanar was born in the town of Tirukkadavur, a place made famous by Shiva's triumph over the god of death. Kari Nayanar was blessed with a remarkable talent for crafting beautiful and intricate poetry, which he used to delight the kings of the Chera, Chozha, and Pandya kingdoms.
With the immense wealth and accolades he received, Kari Nayanar dedicated his life to serving Shiva. He was not a king, but he used his poetic gift to serve a greater purpose. He built beautiful temples for the Lord and generously donated to Shiva's devotees. His poetry was a reflection of his inner devotion, and the wealth it brought him was a tool for his service.
Kari Nayanar’s life was a testament to the idea that any skill or talent can be used as a means to serve God. He used his creativity to praise the Creator, and in return, he received the greatest wealth of all: the grace of Shiva. His thoughts were always on Mount Kailash, and at the end of his life, he was granted a place there, forever at the feet of the Lord.
