Sadaiya Nayanar
The Story of Sadaiya Nayanar
Sadaiya Nayanar was a devout follower of Shiva and the father of the great saint Sundarar. He is celebrated for raising a son who would become one of the most revered figures in Shaivism. Sadaiya Nayanar's own love for the Lord was so profound that it was passed down to his son, who would eventually compose the Tiruthonda Tokai, a famous hymn that praises the 63 Nayanar saints.
Although the details of his own life are not as widely documented as his son's, Sadaiya Nayanar is revered for fulfilling the sacred duty of a father: to raise his son to be a person of great wisdom and devotion. His legacy lies in the fact that he was the father of a saint whose spiritual light continues to inspire countless devotees across centuries.
